A recent survey by the American Gaming Association (AGA) indicates that in 2025, more Americans are participating in legal gambling than ever before. This annual survey reveals that for the first time, over 50% of adults visited a casino, equating to approximately 134 million people in the past year.
The average age of casino visitors has significantly decreased from 51.3 years in 2019 to 42.4 years in 2025. Furthermore, 77% of Americans perceive gambling in their state positively, acknowledging its contribution to economic growth and job creation.
Regarding sports betting, 78% of Americans consider it a form of entertainment, with 74% supporting a legal, regulated industry. At least 90% prefer to use legal online gambling sites, though there are ongoing challenges in distinguishing legitimate platforms. Additionally, 70% of Americans believe gambling-related advertising is managed responsibly.
AGA President and CEO Bill Miller stated that the survey results show “strong consumer confidence in a state-regulated market as a safe and trusted form of entertainment.”
