Mohamed Salah faced uncertainty about his future in a Liverpool jersey when he last played against Brighton at Anfield in December. Two months later, with Salah back as a starter, both he and Arne Slot benefited from their reconciliation as Liverpool advanced to the fifth round by defeating Brighton comfortably.
Salah delivered a brilliant assist, his fourth since his return from the Africa Cup of Nations, and scored from the penalty spot, leading Liverpool to hand Brighton their fourth loss in five matches. Despite Brighton’s promising start, they quickly declined, showing no signs of underperforming under pressure from Fabian Hürzeler. Curtis Jones, Dominik Szoboszlai, with an impressive goal, and Salah took advantage in a dominant win.
