Pirates vs Brewers Pick: Under 7.0

Happy Paul Skenes Day! The Pirates’ sophomore has become appointment viewing, absolutely dominating all-comers. Skenes has a miniscule 1.85 ERA and 0.88 WHIP, yet has a baffling 4-6 win/loss record because his teammates cannot score. Excluding extra innings, the Pirates have scored just six runs across Skenes’ last four starts. For the season as a whole, he’s averaged 3.69 runs of support but they’ve been held to three or fewer in 10 of his 16 starts in 2025.

On the opposite side will be Milwaukee youngster Jacob Misiorowski, who’s impressed with a 1.64 ERA and 0.55 WHIP in his first 11 innings of big-league action. The 2022 second-round pick was having an outstanding season in the minors (2.13 ERA), which led to his promotion.

The 23-year-old is an absolute flamethrower, averaging 99.5 MPH on his four-seam fastball. He has a 28.9% K-rate so far, and the SBD score predictor loves his potential to shutdown the Pirates. Blue Jays vs Guardians Pick: Toronto ML

Living legend Max Scherzer is slated to make his second start of the season for the Toronto Blue Jays. Scherezer lasted just three innings, allowing two runs on three hits (two homers) against the Baltimore Orioles back on March 29. He was then shut down due to thumb injury that landed him on the 60-day DL. In two minor-league rehab starts he posted a 2.08 ERA in 8.2 innings with a 0.81 WHIP.

Cleveland counters with 25-year-old righty Gavin Williams, who’s been extremely fortunate to post a 3.58 ERA this season. He has an inflated 1.42 WHIP and his xERA (4.37), FIP (4.49), and xFIP (4.13) all project significant regression.
