The Pittsburgh Steelers and Miami Dolphins executed the biggest NFL offseason transaction so far on Monday. Pittsburgh traded 28-year-old three-time First-Team All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick (2019, 2020, 2022) to the Miami Dolphins, while acquiring 30-year-old three-time First-Team All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey (2017, 2020, 2021), alongside tight end Jonnu Smith in a separate move.
Though the exchange was somewhat equivalent, the NFL futures didn’t shift dramatically post-trade. However, both teams experienced an improvement in specific betting markets.
NFL Futures: Steelers vs Dolphins
The Steelers’ Super Bowl odds improved from +4500 to +4000, increasing their implied win probability slightly from 2.17% to 2.44%. Pittsburgh’s odds to make the NFL playoffs also bettered, moving from +140 to +130 (41.67% to 43.48%).
