Middlesbrough has relieved Rob Edwards from leading Saturday’s home match against Birmingham, as the 42-year-old is set to join Wolves. Despite rejecting Wolves’ formal request for their head coach on Thursday, the Championship club canceled Edwards’ pre-match press conference after he skipped Friday’s training session, leaving assistants Adi Viveash and Harry Watling in charge. Edwards was prepared to manage the game, but Boro deemed it unfeasible for him to do so.
