Chelsea manager criticizes inconsistent refereeing
Maresca admits Moisés Caicedo tackle was deserving of a red card
Enzo Maresca voiced concerns over inconsistent refereeing after Moisés Caicedo’s red card for Chelsea while Arsenal’s Piero Hincapié avoided a red card in a challenging 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.
Maresca accepted Caicedo’s red for a harsh tackle on Mikel Merino in the first half but expressed his discontent. He referred to Tottenham’s Rodrigo Bentancur not receiving a red for a similar tackle against Chelsea earlier in November and agreed with Reece James’s view that Arsenal should have had a player sent off when Hincapié left Trevoh Chalobah with a black eye in an aerial clash.
