Midfielder arrives from Milan as fourth summer acquisition
He follows Aït-Nouri, Cherki, and Bettinelli to the club
Manchester City has increased their early summer expenditures to over £100m with the addition of Tijjani Reijnders as their fourth signing in three days. The Dutch midfielder has joined from Milan for €55m (£46.6m), joining Rayan Aït-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli, and Rayan Cherki at the club.
All four signings will be available for the Club World Cup, with City’s first match against Wydad AC scheduled for next Wednesday. Reijnders signed before Tuesday’s deadline, securing a five-year contract as Pep Guardiola aims to rejuvenate a squad that had an underwhelming season, finishing a distant third in the Premier League without any trophies yet. City was also active in the January window, spending over £180m on four players. Their total expenditure in 2025 is £288m.
