‘I have been better when I lost,’ Enrique says
Only one game remains in the season where Paris Saint-Germain finally secured their first Champions League victory, completing a historic treble, and that is the Club World Cup final. However, Luis Enrique claims it hasn’t been his best season, stating he was better when he lost. Additionally, the PSG coach remarked that Manchester City is still the top team, and his squad must face a Chelsea team similar to his own, capable of spoiling their flawless campaign, led by a manager he “loves”.
“The Champions League was our first and very significant; it was our main goal when we came to Paris last year,” Enrique said. “And on Sunday, we have the chance, with the last game of the season, to win another one, with the Club World Cup. But it’s crucial we acknowledge the game’s difficulty. Maresca is a coach I admire. I love his approach to playing with the ball. They have many good individual players, but they also have a strong sense of duty. They are somewhat like our team, physically strong too. It will be a very balanced and challenging game.”
