A Mexican soccer executive involved in campaigning for FIFA World Cup 2026 training camps to be held in Mexico has revealed the draw for next year’s event will be held in Las Vegas.
Vegas will host the draw for the 23rd edition of the tournament
According to ESPN, Grupo Pachuca Executive Pedro Cedillo is one of “multiple sources” confirming Vegas will host the draw for the 23rd edition of the tournament.
Las Vegas Locally took to X to further posit that The Sphere Las Vegas will likely host the draw for the 2026 soccer showpiece, which will feature 48 teams and three host countries: Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
According to ESPN, however, multiple sources have ruled out The Sphere.
Cedillo, who fronts a Mexican conglomerate mainly focused on owning and operating professional soccer franchises in Mexico, also said he believed December 5 would be the day the draw for the tournament, that starts June 11, will take place.
The Las Vegas Convention Center, which hosted the 1994 World Cup draw when the US last hosted the tournament, is booked out on the date in question.
