Chelsea secured their spot in a seventh consecutive Women’s League Cup final after a narrow win over Manchester City, gaining an away victory that could provide a psychological edge in the title race. Wieke Kaptein’s decisive header secured the win for the defending champions. Kaptein managed to move ahead of City’s center-back Jade Rose and scored unchallenged from Sandy Baltimore’s cross. Chelsea dominated the first half, but it was the goalkeepers, Ayaka Yamashita and Hannah Hampton, whose acrobatics in the second half kept the score to a single goal.
