The New York Islanders have unveiled their 2025-26 season schedule, with the opening game set against the Pittsburgh Penguins on October 9. Their first home game will be on October 11 against the Washington Capitals.
The schedule features exciting matchups, including returns of former Islanders Brock Nelson and Noah Dobson. Nelson, with the Colorado Avalanche, will play at UBS Arena on December 4, while Dobson and the Canadiens visit on April 12.
Rivalry games include four showdowns with the New York Rangers, starting at Madison Square Garden on November 8. The Islanders will host the Rangers on December 27, followed by a home-and-home series on January 28 and 29. Additionally, they will face the New Jersey Devils four times, with games in New Jersey on November 10 and February 5, and on home turf on December 23 and January 6.
The Islanders are scheduled for three encounters with the reigning Stanley Cup champions, the Florida Panthers, starting at Amerant Bank Arena on December 7, with two home games against them in March.
The schedule includes two seven-game road trips in November and January. The November trip spans from November 8-20, visiting tri-state venues, followed by games against the Vegas Golden Knights, Utah Mammoth, Avalanche, Dallas Stars, and Detroit Red Wings.
The January trip features games in the Midwest and Western Canada, starting against the Nashville Predators on January 8, and continuing with matchups against the Minnesota Wild, Winnipeg Jets, Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames, Vancouver Canucks, and Seattle Kraken until January 21.
In March, the team will visit California from March 4-7, playing against the Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Kings, and San Jose Sharks before a brief stop against the St. Louis Blues, then returning home.
The Islanders will have a break from February 8-25 due to the NHL’s Olympic break, resuming their schedule against the Canadiens. Weekend home game start times are moving earlier, with none starting later than 7 p.m. ET and 10 afternoon or early evening starts in the initial schedule.
