Hardy Boyz Discuss Exciting Future Plans Ahead of TNA Slammiversary at UBS Arena | AmNewYork - SCCG Management

Legendary wrestling tag team the Hardy Boyz revealed that they will introduce new personas that could once again revolutionize the wrestling world, potentially starting at New York’s UBS Arena. Jeff and Matt Hardy shared this sentiment as they prepared for a brutal ladder match at TNA’s Slammiversary on July 20. Recently, they made appearances throughout New York, including Times Square and Long Island.

On June 25, the duo visited Create a Pro Wrestling, a training school in Hicksville, engaging with aspiring wrestlers and offering career advice. For over an hour, the multi-time champions fielded questions from these up-and-comers before discussing their careers with amNewYork.

Matt and Jeff have been influential figures in many wrestling companies over the years, including WWE, TNA, ROH, and AWE. In March, they made a unique appearance in WWE through a joint partnership with TNA, defending their tag team titles in another company.

“It was great to feel the energy, especially in New York when we did the NXT, just to come out and be back in the WWE. Man, it was so wild,” Jeff reflected. “It was just so cool to feel that energetic love.”

Matt echoed the sentiment, noting how many NXT superstars were big fans of them. “The crowd’s energy was electric. Everyone at NXT was great. There are so many young, talented guys there, and most of them grew up watching me and Jeff. It still feels surreal when guys approach us saying we inspired them. It’s unreal and a reminder of how blessed we are,” Matt said.

In addition to engaging with young wrestlers, they have also appeared in the New York City Subway and at Citi Field, readying themselves for their Slammiversary match at the UBS Arena. They have promised fans an unforgettable match ending.

“We are going to put high expectations on ourselves. This ladder match is our signature; we’re the guys who made this match famous. We want to raise the bar high,“ Matt stated.

“I predict it might be the most innovative and original finish ever in a ladder match. So, it’s super exciting,” Jeff added.

Despite a lengthy and successful career, both wrestlers feel they have more to offer. Jeff expressed his aspiration to find a character akin to Matt’s Broken Matt persona that could make a significant impact in wrestling.

“The Broken Matt Hardy character inspires me to create something distinct. I believe there’s an untapped character I will bring to life before my career ends,” Jeff said. “I think there is a lot more for me to do.”

Matt agreed, suggesting that Slammiversary might mark the beginning of this new chapter and expressing a desire to counteract John Cena’s “pledge to ruin wrestling.”

“I think there is a reinvention for both of us, something new and unique that can catch fire — and we have ideas. This match at Slammiversary might kickstart that journey. John Cena wants to destroy wrestling; maybe Jeff and I want to save it and truly cater TNA to wrestling fans,” Matt said.

The Hardy Boyz will perform at Slammiversary on July 20 at the UBS Arena. Tickets can be found here.
