Hard Rock Targets UAE with Ras Al Khaimah Initiative - SCCG Management

The Hard Rock hotel brand plans to open its first location in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) through an agreement with db Group and RAK Hospitality Holding. The project will establish a mixed-use property in Ras Al Khaimah’s beach area.

The new site will include 300 rooms and 395 branded residences to cater to numerous guests, featuring restaurants, waterfront dining, a rooftop bar, and amenities like an event center, conference facilities, a spa and fitness center, a beach club, and multiple pools.

The development is expected to create around 500 permanent jobs, adding economic value to the region.

Company representatives shared their enthusiasm for the project. Todd Hricko, vice president and head of global hotel development at Hard Rock International, expressed eagerness to provide the renowned Hard Rock experience in the UAE.

“This development will open new doors for the Hard Rock global traveler in a destination with rich history and nature to explore,” said Todd Hricko.

Silvio Debono, chair of db Group, also expressed excitement about the endeavor, marking his company’s first major project outside Malta. He emphasized combining his team’s hospitality expertise with Hard Rock’s unique spirit for a “truly unique lifestyle experience on the shores of Ras Al Khaimah.”

RAK Hospitality Holding’s CEO, Alison Grinnel, pledged to harness her team’s regional expertise to foster growth, positioning Ras Al Khaimah as a future “dynamic hub for tourism, leisure, and entertainment.”

While the press release did not mention a casino, the potential for one remains open as UAE lawmakers consider new gaming opportunities. Wynn Resorts is pursuing a casino license for its future Ras Al Khaimah property, scheduled to open in 2027, developed with RAK Hospitality Holding. Meanwhile, Dubai has started exploring gaming possibilities, with Light & Wonder recently securing a B2B license.
