NOBLE CHAMPION was impressive in the Jersey Stakes recently and seems poised to at least place in this race now that he has fulfilled his early promise. He is preferred over KINROSS, the event’s previous winner, who performs well on this course.

**15.05 Al Shaqab Goodwood Cup Stakes (Group 1)**
SUNWAY wasn’t too far behind Illinois in last year’s St Leger and could perform well if the distance suits him. However, SWEET WILLIAM is my top pick. He was the runner-up in this race last year and stands a good chance to excel with no Kyprios or Trawlerman competing. I’m quite optimistic about his prospects.

**15.45 Coral Golden Rewards Shaker Handicap**
JAKAJARO had no luck when finishing sixth on the bridle at Ascot last time out, yet he showed potential for a major victory. Jamie Spencer will continue the partnership. REDORANGE has managed to place twice recently despite a poor draw at Ascot and has strong claims.

**British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes (Colts & Geldings)**
NAVAL LIGHT will find this race easier than when he was eighth in the Norfolk Stakes previously and had shown promise when runner-up on debut at Beverley. He might be tough to beat, but HIGH APPROVAL, under the same ownership, has placed in both starts so far and has Christophe Soumillon as the jockey.
