Italy celebrated as they reached their first major women’s tournament semi-final since 1997 after Cristiana Girelli’s 90th-minute header secured a victory against Norway. Norway’s captain, Ada Hegerberg, missed a crucial penalty earlier in the second half. Managed by former Wales coach Gemma Grainger, Norway was underwhelming for the initial part of the match but gained strength later, equalizing through Hegerberg’s low finish. However, Girelli’s second goal, a back-post header, clinched the win for Italy.
