Football Bet: Expect High Scoring in Poland This Thursday - SCCG Management

After our streak ended at five following a goal shortfall in Norway on Wednesday, Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day focuses on the European qualifiers, spotlighting a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

⚽️ Shakhtar Donetsk vs Besiktas
???????? Europa League Qualifying
⏰ Thursday 31 July, 19:00

Shakhtar aims to advance to the third qualifying round in the Europa League as they ‘host’ Besiktas in neutral Poland in a match promising goals. Shakhtar Donetsk began their European campaign by defeating Finnish side Ilves 6-0 on aggregate, all in the first leg, setting up a tie with the Turkish giants.

In the first leg, Shakhtar started strong in Istanbul, with Alisson Santana and Eguinaldo giving them a two-goal lead within the first half-hour. Besiktas’s Tammy Abraham scored his first goal for the Black Eagles from the spot, but another Brazilian, Kevin, restored Shakhtar’s lead. Joao Mario then scored for Besiktas, but Kevin secured Shakhtar’s position by scoring again in stoppage time, putting them in a strong position to face Panathinaikos in the next round.

Bet of the Day

Shakhtar’s previous 10 European matches averaged 3.60 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals occurring in seven (70%) of them, and five of their last eight had goals at both ends. Besiktas’s 11 continental matches since last season averaged 3.91 goals per game, with nine (82%) seeing at least three goals, and eight (73%) having goals on both sides.

Considering the openness of the first leg in Istanbul and Besiktas’s need for goals, another high-scoring game is expected in Poland on Thursday.
