Fifa has unveiled a collaboration with a Saudi Arabian government body, pledging up to $1bn (£762m) to support the enhancement of football infrastructure worldwide.
On Monday, the global governing organization for football disclosed that it has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Saudi Fund for Development. This partnership will facilitate the provision of discounted loans for the “construction and rehabilitation” of stadiums and other infrastructure. Developing countries will receive priority access to these loans.
