He may no longer be known as the ‘Guernsey Grealish,’ but his deeper role at Bournemouth has secured the midfielder his first senior call-up.
During his time at Bristol City, Alex Scott was affectionately dubbed the “Guernsey Grealish” due to his hairstyle, low socks, and adventurous midfield play. As Scott recalls, the club’s manager, Nigel Pearson, allowed him “a lot of freedom to go out and almost do what I wanted.”
Things changed after his £25m transfer to Bournemouth in the summer of 2023; there was a greater emphasis on tactical discipline and defensive duties. He transitioned into more of a No 8 role. This is a departure from the early days of Jack Grealish, who is currently on loan at Everton from Manchester City.
