FanDuel and Kalshi are reportedly considering a partnership, according to Front Office Sports. They aim to collaborate in the prediction markets, an area FanDuel has previously shown interest in. FanDuel, a major U.S. sports betting company, is exploring possibilities with Kalshi, a key player in prediction markets, to enhance betting efficiencies.
Flutter’s CEO Peter Jackson noted in the 2025 Q1 earnings report that the company is evaluating entry into prediction markets. A partnership could benefit both companies, as Kalshi operates across all 50 states under the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, while FanDuel is licensed in 25 states for sports betting.
Collaborating could allow FanDuel to extend its reach and offer sports prediction contracts nationwide, possibly including event contracts for elections or pop culture. Kalshi could expand into broader sports contracts, leveraging FanDuel’s user base of over 12 million.
FanDuel could gain market access with lower expenses and regulations, while Kalshi could benefit from FanDuel’s expertise in diverse betting options. However, entering the event market presents challenges, as Kalshi faces legal issues in several states, with ongoing lawsuits against gaming regulators.
Kalshi’s CEO Tarek Mansour argues that prediction markets should solely be regulated by the CFTC, differing from traditional sports betting by not being against the house. Despite regulatory concerns, the future CFTC leader indicated that the commission might not impose additional regulations unless directed by higher authorities.
