Mr Chow at Caesars Palace to Close After a Decade of Iconic Dining
Caesars Entertainment has announced that the renowned Mr Chow Chinese restaurant at Caesars Palace will soon close its doors, ending a ten-year run of delivering high-end dining on the Las Vegas Strip.
The restaurant will no longer accept online reservations starting May 17, marking the beginning of its shutdown. Caesars has yet to confirm whether a new dining concept will replace Mr Chow or what the future holds for the venue space.
Since opening at Caesars Palace in late 2015, Mr Chow has become a destination for celebrities, much like its other locations in cities such as London, Beverly Hills, New York, and Miami. Known for blending opulence with culinary innovation, the Las Vegas outpost served some of the restaurant chain’s most extravagant creations.
Among its most talked-about dishes is a $1,000 filet — an 8- to 10-ounce premium beef cut seasoned with black pepper, deep-fried, and finished with an opulent 24-karat gold leaf topping. Served in medallions atop a pool of Mr Chow’s signature black pepper sauce, the dish is further elevated with a generous helping of Petrossian Tsar Imperial Ossetra caviar. A glass of Krug Grand Cuvée Brut Champagne accompanies the meal to complete the lavish experience.
A Storied Culinary Legacy
Mr Chow’s roots trace back to 1968, when founder Michael Chow — the son of Chinese Peking Opera Grand Master Zhou Xinfang — launched the first restaurant in London. From the start, the establishment drew prominent figures, including The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, and Jeanne Moreau.
The brand made its U.S. debut in 1974 with a location in Beverly Hills, quickly becoming a hotspot for stars like Clint Eastwood, Eartha Kitt, Billy Wilder, and Anjelica Huston.
In the decades that followed, Mr Chow extended its footprint across the United States and abroad. Its arrival in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace was a significant milestone, continuing its tradition of hosting Hollywood elite and international celebrities.
As the restaurant prepares to close, it’s unclear what will come next for the prime Caesars Palace location. For now, fans are left to reflect on a decade of memorable meals in one of Las Vegas’s most glamorous dining settings.
