Brazilian teenager Estêvão’s goal in Chelsea’s victory over Barcelona was a standout, and he has the potential to become one of the elite in football.
While Lamine Yamal exudes quality, even when appearing dejected on the field, and has finished as a Ballon d’Or runner-up, he wasn’t the top right-sided forward at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.
Chelsea’s Estêvão, acquired from Palmeiras for up to £52m, has been impressing since his decisive goal against Liverpool last month. He has scored four goals in his last four Chelsea starts and netted in both of Brazil’s recent friendlies. Though it’s early, Estêvão may be the player Brazil hoped Neymar would be.
