The Ashes Series is just hours from getting underway and bet365’s liabilities make interesting reading with the firm finally seeing money for England.
bet365’s Steve Freeth said: “Our Ashes ante-post book which has been open since the Oval in 2023, shows the hosts maintaining their dominance at home with 88% of stakes being placed on Australia to win the series outright compared to just 10% on England.
“However, the recently opened 1st Test liabilities paint a different picture with bet365 customers believing that England can get off to a rare good start Down Under.
“Whether this is down to the Australia’s current injury problems or the curtain-raiser being played at the Optus Stadium in Perth is debatable, but 52% of stakes have been for Ben Stokes and Co to get off to a flyer.”
The correct score market points to another comfortable home showing with 22% of stakes traded on a 3-1 Australia win, 20% on 4-0 and 18% on a 5-0 drubbing for England.
However, fear not ‘Bazball’ fans, 3% of bet365’s book has the visitors winning 5-0!
