Liverpool may back out after a £110m bid for the Swedish player.
Howe: ‘I really don’t know what is going to happen next’
Eddie Howe has acknowledged the Alexander Isak situation is “far from ideal,” yet he remains hopeful the player will return to play for Newcastle following the club’s rejection of Liverpool’s offer.
The 25-year-old Swede, highly sought in world football, has been swayed by the Premier League champions’ interest this summer. Isak was absent from Newcastle’s pre-season tour in Asia due to a “minor thigh injury,” according to the club, while his dissatisfaction and training at his former club Real Sociedad have become apparent.
