DraftKings Maintains Top Spot in Latest Sportsbook App Rankings
DraftKings has once again secured the number one position in Eilers & Krejcik Gaming’s (EKG) most recent rankings of online sportsbook (OSB) apps for the first half of 2025. This marks the second consecutive time that DraftKings has led the pack, edging out its closest competitor, FanDuel.
Fanatics Gains Ground as DraftKings and FanDuel Retain Leadership
The EKG rankings evaluate apps across various categories, including user experience, market variety, and feature integration. DraftKings continues to shine in these areas, with testers highlighting its sleek design and user-friendly interface. Minor issues were noted with live streaming and the cash-out function, but overall, the app received high marks.
FanDuel, owned by Flutter Entertainment, holds a solid second place. Together, FanDuel and DraftKings continue to dominate a significant portion of the online sportsbook space. However, that dominance may face new challenges as other contenders close the gap.
One such challenger is Fanatics. Though a relative newcomer, Fanatics has remained in third place since late 2024. In just a year since entering the rankings, the company has made significant strides, positioning itself as a growing force in the competitive landscape.
Caesars Climbs into Top Five with Digital Betting Surge
Caesars Sportsbook has made a notable leap, breaking into the top five for the first time thanks to a revamped app. The improved layout and expanded betting options have helped propel it to the fifth spot in the latest EKG assessment. This progress coincides with momentum in Caesars’ online casino division, particularly through its Caesars Palace-branded app.
The digital growth of Caesars has attracted attention from both industry insiders and investors. With discussions around a potential spinoff of its digital operations, some analysts suggest Caesars Entertainment’s overall market value could be underappreciated.
At the lower end of the rankings, BetMGM continues to face challenges related to performance and responsiveness. While the app has a solid core offering, ongoing complaints about slow load times have hurt user satisfaction. A planned update aimed at boosting speed and function could play a key role in reversing those trends and attracting more users.
Shifting Landscape in the OSB Market
These latest rankings highlight a rapidly evolving digital sportsbook industry where innovation and user-friendly design drive leadership. As established players enhance their platforms and emerging brands accelerate their growth, the competition is poised to intensify in the months ahead.
