Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of Jérémy Doku’s exhilarating performance was its playfulness, the joy he exhibited, engaging from the first moment, essentially dancing out there.
Doku is nicknamed The Count, referencing the Star Wars Sith Lord Count Dooku. His display against Liverpool resembled a young Yoda, cutting his way through one of those mass lightsaber battles, spinning and gliding, attuned to space, the air, the slight bending of a grass blade behind him.
