However, replicating that kind of performance on short rest against this red-hot Thunder squad is a tall order. Oklahoma City has won nine of its last ten home games, with each of those victories coming by at least 16 points—an average winning margin of 26.7 PPG.
Meanwhile, Jokic has been kept in check by OKC defenders. In three of four games against the Thunder this season, he failed to surpass 24 points, averaging just 24.5 PPG. He also struggled in the latter portion of the Clippers series, scoring 25 or fewer points in the final three games while shooting just 42.9% from the field.
The Thunder defense has looked elite this postseason, holding Memphis to a Defensive Rating of just 97.6 through four games. Combined with their energy and depth, OKC is primed to cruise in Game 1—especially if Denver’s legs start to look heavy after a demanding first round.
