- Carolina Looks to Build On First Win: The Panthers got their first win of the season last week. They shut out the Atlanta Falcons 30-0 at home and prompted the Falcons to bench Michael Penix Jr. Carolina will look for its first road win of the season this week against the Patriots.
- Drake Maye’s Development: Drake Maye comes into this game having been efficient for the most part. But the Patriots have struggled to put points on the board in two of their first three games. Maye will continue to lean heavily on tight end Hunter Henry after Henry scored both of New England’s touchdowns in their Week 3 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
- New England’s Rushing Attack: The Patriots have had a hard time moving the ball on the ground early in the season. Maye is their leading rusher through three games with 87 yards. A failure to run the ball will only make things tougher on Maye and the passing game.

But Maye needs to be better at completing long passes downfield to give his rushers more room to operate.
