Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has returned to practice, raising the possibility of playing again this season. Although he hasn’t set a specific return date from a turf toe injury, Burrow expressed a desire to play on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, against the Baltimore Ravens. He participated in practice on Monday in a limited role, opening his 21-day window to come back from injured reserve.
“We’ll see how these next couple weeks go,” Burrow said in his first news conference since the injury. “There’s a lot that goes into it. There’s a lot of variables that you have to consider.”
The Bengals are expected to maintain a cautious approach with Burrow’s return. He has been out since his injury in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Cincinnati has since lost five of its last six games, standing at a 3-6 record and the bottom of the AFC North. This situation places them on the edge of the playoff picture, which could influence Burrow’s decision to return this season.
Burrow has faced several significant injuries in his career, including a season-ending torn ACL in his rookie year and a torn ligament in his wrist limiting him to 10 games, along with a strained calf impacting a season’s start.
