• Texas A&M’s Offensive Surge: The Aggies have proven to be excellent on offense. They have scored over 40 points in each of their first three games, including in their last game on the road against Notre Dame. Their offense is clicking, especially through the air. Marcel Reed has thrown for nine touchdowns and one interception so far. He has thrown for 869 passing yards already. Reed will look to deliver once again at home to keep his team undefeated.
• Auburn’s Looks to Bounce Back: Auburn has wins over weaker opponents plus a solid showing against Baylor. But their loss to Oklahoma in their last outing exposed some flaws on offense. Auburn was held to 17 points in that game and they will need quarterback Jackson Arnold to be more effective down the field if they are going to avoid a second loss in a row.
• Home Field & Motivation: A&M has the crowd on their side in this game. They have a rest advantage after an idle week last week. And they have the motivation to avenge last season’s upset at Auburn. Auburn is stepping into a hostile environment and will need to bring their best early to avoid going into halftime in a hole.
• Defense Differences: Texas A&M’s defense has allowed more points than desired but has scored more than enough points to make up for that. Auburn’s defense has played well for the most part this season. But they need to prove that their offense can do enough to beat an elite team.
