Saliba and Trossard uncertain for Wednesday’s first leg
Mikel Arteta admitted Arsenal needs to address their defensive injuries to continue their pursuit in four competitions. Arteta made the comments after disclosing that William Saliba may not play in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Chelsea on Wednesday.
Neither Saliba nor Leandro Trossard participated in the FA Cup win over Portsmouth on Sunday. It was generally assumed they were rested, but Arteta clarified on Tuesday that Saliba might miss the Stamford Bridge match due to an unspecified injury, with Trossard similarly uncertain.
