Previously, attending a World Cup in one’s own country depended more on availability than affordability. However, for the 2026 tournament in the US, Mexico, and Canada, even the least pricey tickets are now considered a luxury.

The Guardian’s examination of men’s World Cup ticket costs indicates that while overall prices for the 2026 event have risen, the most significant increases are for the lowest-priced tickets. This analysis is based on Fifa pricing data from 1994, with more detailed figures from 2006 onwards. The 2026 ticket prices are valid as of 16 December 2025, excluding the 1.6% of tickets Fifa recently offered at a fixed $60 rate for each match.
