Kobbie Mainoo has not started in the Premier League this season. Ruben Amorim says, “I try to put the best players on the pitch.” Amorim denied claims of not trusting Manchester United’s academy by highlighting his inclusion of Mainoo in the matchday squad. Mainoo was an unused substitute in the recent 1-1 draw against West Ham. The 20-year-old midfielder, with the club since age six, has made 10 appearances this season, starting only once, in the Carabao Cup match against Grimsby.
