AFC Wimbledon have booked their place in the League Two playoff final after defeating Notts County 2-0 on aggregate. Josh Neufville’s early goal secured a 1-0 win in the second leg at the Cherry Red Records Stadium, sealing the victory for the South London club. They will now meet Walsall at Wembley Stadium on Monday, 26 May, with a spot in League One up for grabs.
Notts County, already trailing from the first leg, faced additional setbacks going into the match. Veteran forward David McGoldrick was unavailable due to injury, while striker Alassana Jatta missed the game following a red card in the first leg. As a result, manager Stuart Maynard reshuffled his lineup, handing Maï Traoré the responsibility of leading the attack. Despite the changes, County were unable to overturn the deficit, allowing Wimbledon to advance to the final.
