ISCO Championship Preview
The ISCO Championship, formerly the Barbasol Championship, has become a notable stop on the PGA Tour’s summer schedule. Now in its 10th edition, the event has relocated to Hurstbourne Country Club in Louisville after seven years in central Kentucky and previous events in Alabama. This new course features narrow, tree-lined fairways, small bentgrass greens, and coastal-grass roughs to navigate.
This tournament has historically favored players with strong scrambling and approach-game skills. However, that might not hold this time, as the new course could benefit players with different styles.
This is a co-sanctioned event with the DP Tour, leading several European Tour regulars to accept invitations. Familiar names like Seamus Power and Rico Hoey are in the field alongside PGA Tour grinders. While the marquee PGA Tour players are at the Scottish Open, the ISCO Championship offers a platform for rising talents and less-heralded pros to stand out.
