Time is running short for Richarlison. Injuries to Dominic Solanke and Randal Kolo Muani gave the Brazilian a consistent start under Thomas Frank, but with just one goal since the start of the season, he hasn’t capitalized on his chances. Now, with Kolo Muani fit, the ex-Everton striker finds himself on the bench, having failed to impress against FC Copenhagen midweek, even missing a penalty won by Dane Scarlett. Competition is tough, even for a Spurs side that recorded 0.1 xG in their loss to Chelsea – the season’s lowest for any Premier League team – stirring up transfer speculation ahead of January. Both Ivan Toney (a former player under Frank at Brentford) and Dusan Vlahovic (whose Juventus contract ends next summer) have been rumored. Tottenham has funds available, so Richarlison must maximize his playtime if he hopes to remain at the club and keep his place in Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad with the World Cup approaching next summer.
