Brighton fans’ hopes for building momentum after five unbeaten matches were dashed by Saturday’s stoppage-time defeat to Fulham. Fabian Hürzeler’s team led at halftime but their second-half performance followed their usual away game pattern. With only two away victories—in September against Chelsea and in November against Nottingham Forest—their European aspirations have been hampered. Upcoming matches at the Amex Stadium against Everton and rivals Crystal Palace provide a chance to regain lost ground. Brighton trails Chelsea, who are in fifth place, by just seven points, but their home record against David Moyes’s teams is poor, not having won since 2019 when a late Lucas Digne own goal secured a win for Graham Potter’s side against Marco Silva’s Everton.
